The Engagement Story...
He gave me a rather unromantic plastic bag with a big cardboard box in it and said "here's your present." I opened it and, to my dismay, it was a box for a Playstation 2 (which I had told him not to buy me, since we couldn't afford it). He's like "just open the box." So, I did and inside was another box, this one red. I lifted the lid to the red box and inside was a beautiful large, ornate, antique-looking silver jewelry box. I opened the jewelry box and there was a small blue velvet ring box on the inside. I panicked and shut the jewelry box and looked up at him, confused. He just smiled and reopened the jewelry box and took out the ring box and opened it to reveal a beautiful white gold diamond solitaire ring and said "Will you marry me?" I immediately burst into tears and said yes! Apparently he asked my father for permission to propose a week ago, so everyone (his family and mine) was in on it. My father, after a stern lecture *giggle*, said yes and my mom hugged him and welcomed him to the family. Then they all had to wait a week to say anything to me. It nearly killed my mother!
